This basil is perhaps the easiest to grow of all basil and is more tolerant of cooler weather than other varieties. It grows to 12-18 inches tall and produces light purple flowers which are appreciated by pollinators. It has a unique scent that has been described as fruity with the smell of cloves and chocolate. This is a plant used for Hindu religious purposes and also has natural medicine uses. Fresh leaves can be used to make a hot tea to help digestion.
