100+ Lemon Bee Balm Seeds | Monarda Citriodora | Butterfly & Bee | Florida Grown

Lemon Bee Balm Monarda Citriodora We planted a half row of Lemon Bee Balm on the farm in 2020 and it grew to take over the entire bed! It choked out the majority of Goldie tomato plants, but we now know to give it much more room. The beautiful purple flowers are the first to bloom in the Spring. Some people plant these in ‘fairy gardens’ because the towers of flowers are just so gorgeous! Lemon Bee Balm will grow to about knee high and can be trimmed regularly to encourage year long blooms. The large bumble bees come from all over and buzz from plant to plant all day long. The orange Gulf Fritillary butterflies are big fans too! Lemon Bee Balm can be cut & dried to make a wonderful cup of tea! Regular Bee Balm is called Oswego tea. Add in a few other ingredients and it is called Bergamot. This is a close relative of the Regular Bee Balm, but with a lemon flavor. The tea is really unique!
