JOJOBA PLANT TREE SEEDS (Simmondsia chinensis) Fruit Nut Oil Goatnut Jojoba; Goatnut (Simmondsia chinensis) is a common native shrub that grows in Southern and Central California, primarily in the Peninsular Range and Sonoran Desert regions. It is moderately fast growing and long-lived. It grows in a rounded form to a height of 7 feet, with active growth during the summer and fall. Flowers are yellow and bloom in the late spring. Male and female flowers are borne on separate plants, the "goatnut" fruits only being found on female plants with male plants nearby. Leaves are medium green, and remain on the plant throughout the year. It tends to grow in rocky and sandy soils, at elevations from 0-4900 feet. Jojoba prefers light, coarsely textured soils. Good drainage and water penetration is necessary. It tolerates salinity and poor-nutrient soils. Soil pH should be between 7.0 TO 9.0. Use a thermos to help keep the water warm for as long as possible. This will greatly increase germination rates. Also, for Jojoba seeds it is necessary to use a heated propagator mat set at 90-95 degrees F. 2) Sow seeds 1 inch deep in very well draining "sandy cactus starting mixed soil" and keep it barely moist and at 90-95 degrees F. Do not over water or keep wet at any time; just keep the soil barely moist but never let it dry out. Misting the soil with a spray bottle is optimal with little risk of overwatering.3) Expect germination between 20 to 30 days. Without a heated propagator they could take months."Please Contact us First if you need Anything"
