An ancient herb cultivated for thousands of years, tarragon was historically used medicinally for the treatment of indigestion, tooth-aches, and other ailments. Today it is a favorite of home gardeners and chefs alike due to its unique licorice-like flavor and pleasant aroma. Try adding it to vegetable dishes, soups, cheeses, egg dishes, fish, or white sauces! Transplant outdoors once the plants have their second set of true leaves and the danger of frost has passed. Space plants 18 to 24 inches apart in moist, nutrient rich soil. Does best in full sun but tolerates partial shade. Grows to between 18 and 25 inches in height.
