30+ seeds from 2023 Sinningia leucotricha is a large African Violet relative (Gesneriad) from Brazil. It has wonderfully soft, white, fluffy leaves, orange tubular flowers, and will form a nice tuberous caudex with time. The stems are quite unusual as they are determinate: they re-grow from the tuber each year, make a few leaves and flowers and then die, without any additional growth. This species is a summer grower, and will go dormant during the winter, losing the foliage. The seeds are like dust, so surface sow, or barely cover seeds on a well-drained gritty mix with mineral additives (perlite, pumice, lava). A little grit on top which seeds can fall between helps hold up young seedlings. Keep moist until they germinate. Seeds germinate naturally for me in fall when the temperatures cool (you can see seedlings in picture #2 around the caudex). But spring sowing would probably be fine too. The seedlings quickly form a tiny caudex. I water this regularly during summer when in active growth, and rarely during winter.
