ORGANIC CHENOPODIUM ALBUM SEEDS 2023 harvest. This package includes TWO VARIETIES: -1bag x200+ GREEN variety seeds / 1 bag x200+ PINK variety Also known as white goose foot, lamb's quarters, bathua, wild spinach, wild quinoa. Chenopodium Album is a highly adaptive plant known to be one of the most nutritional greens grown and harvested all around the world for thousands of years. Plant as a spring and summer crop for cooler zones, or winter crop in hotter zones. FAST AND EASY TO GROW, DELICIOUS AND NUTRITIOUS WILD GREEN ABLE TO BE HARVESTED AT ALL STAGES WITH A LONG GROWING SEASON. COOK WITH YOUNG LEAVES, TENDER SHOOTS, IMMATURE SEED HEADS, OR USE SEEDS AS GRAIN TO MAKE FLOUR. GREAT FLAVOR ALL SEASON, DOES NOT GO BITTER. HAS A MILD AND NUTTY FLAVOR SIMILAR TO SPINACH AND ASPARAGUS. Like other leafy greens/veg, chenopodium contains oxalates, the content of which is significantly reduced when cooked, but should be a consideration for people with a sensitivity. Grows in full sun to part shade, prune this plant to get much bushier production, or grow in patches. Grows 3-4 ft. Best shoots for harvest are younger and snap easily without stringiness. Regular harvesting promotes new shoot growth. Part shade lends to larger leaf growth. Leaves will become more narrow towards end of season and seeding.
