Late Fall/Early winter is a great time to plant milkweed seeds using dormant seeding method. Honeyvine milkweed is a host plant for the monarch butterfly…it’s a vine, and is great for fences, trellises, areas that are good for vines. It can be aggressive so make sure you have the right spot for it. The leaves stay fresh throughout the growing season and therefore monarchs love laying their eggs on it… The flowers are extremely fragrant, and attractive to all types of insects that nectar on the flowers. I will mail you seeds in a stamped envelope, USPS, first class. No tracking. Packaging won’t be fancy, but it will be effective. Seeds are dried, but not cold stratified. This milkweed, like many, need cold stratification to germinate. An easy way to stratify is to wrap in a slightly damp paper towel and put in a zip lock baggie and put in the refrigerator for 30-60 days, or scratch them into the ground late fall early winter.
