Common names include Whorled Milkweed, Eastern Whorled Milkweed, and Horsetail Milkweed. The United States and Canada are where it can be found as a native. This herbaceous perennial can grow to two and a half feet tall and two feet wide. White blooms will come out in June through September. The inflorescence will have seven to twenty light green to white flowers. The leaves are narrow or linear. The Native American People have used this species for snakebite, and the Lakota and Hopi tribes used it to increase breast milk in mothers. The Navajo also used it for some allergy problems. It likes to grow in full sun to part shade with soils that can be dry to moist, so this one has low maintenance. It will attract Hummingbirds, Wasps, Honey Bees, and a host to the Monarch Butterflies. It is also Deer resistant. Zones 4-9GerminationPlace your seeds and some soil in a ziplock bag.
