Anise is primarily an annual plant that develops white flower heads. Anise has a licorice like flavor. From planting the seeds in the spring, until matured, it needs four months. It needs full sun to part shade. It prefers regular garden soil, but if you are going to plant in a large planter pot, make sure the pot is at least 12 or more inches deep to give room for the root. It will grow 24 to 36 inches tall. Plant the seeds 1/4 to a half inch deep, no deeper, and keep moist until they germinate, which could be up to 21 days. 40 seeds per pkt.
