( see my other crepe myrtle varieties )Masses of medium lavender colored flowers in large panicles are produced on current season’s growth in summer. bark - Dark greenish-grey colored, exfoliating (after about three years) to reveal a very attractive ornamental whitish-beige under bark. Size: Height: to 30 ft. Width: to 30 ft Reliably top hardy to U.S.D.A. Zone 7b - 10 , root hardy to U.S.D.A. Zone 6 Medicinal use of Crepe Myrtle: The stem bark is febrifuge, stimulant and styptic. The bark, flowers and leaves are considered to be hydrogogue and a drastic purgative. A paste of the flowers is applied externally to cuts and wounds. The root is astringent, detoxicant and diuretic.
