Test Tommy Toe Tomato Check out our other listings! Tommy Toe, also known as Steakhouse is an open-pollinated, heirloom tomato variety whose origins can be traced back to the Ozark mountains in the early 1900s. Sprawling indeterminate vines produce incredible numbers of bright red cherry tomatoes that grow to about 1 inch in diameter. Flavor is old-fashioned, full, and complex, making Tommy Toe a great choice to slicing, juicing, or eating straight off the vine. Very tolerant of heat and humidity with good resistance to most diseases. Start indoors 6-8 weeks before the last spring frost, sowing the seeds 1/8 inch deep in a seed flat or cell tray. Use a heat mat to keep the soil temperature between 70-75°F and a humidity dome to ensure the soil stays moist between watering. Germination should occur within 6 to 8 days. 75 days to maturity.
