UP FOR SALE IS Orange milkweed, Asclepias tuberosa, Butterfly weed. 100 seeds.this is the famous orange milkweed species native from Canada to Mexico. it is one of our great American native flowers with a rich history.the brilliant orange flowers light up meadows, and of course, visits by butterflies abounds.this milkweed grows well in poor dry and rocky soil as well as garden soil, making them an easy wildflower to grow. once they get going they almost take care of themselves.they are poisonous if eaten in large quantities.the seeds need to be stratified,(go thru a cold period) before they will sprout. plant outdoors in fall or early winter for spring germination or put them in your fridge for a month or more till you are ready to plant. plant seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date. perennial hardy Zone: 3-8 Sun: full sun Water: regular to low Soil: rich ,well draining soil and will also do well in dry poor soils. Height: 36″ tall. Bloom time: early summer thru summer. difficultly: very easy once they get growing. I send planting directions with all seeds. Here you get 100 seeds of Purple Teasel Flower, a dramatic ornamental plant in your garden but also excellent in dried arrangements.It is a biannual that will get up to 6 foot tall and grows in zones 3-8. Plant it in a back border in a sunny spot. It is pretty easy to grow and needs only little water once established. Deer don’t eat them, but pollinators love this wild flower. How to plant: Either start the seeds in spring or in fall. Cover the seeds lightly with 1/8 inch of soil.The first year they will grow into a rosette and in the second year they grow into the tall, dramatic plant. Grow the seeds in pots and transplant them to their final place or start them in the soil where you want them to grow without having to transplant them.
