Red skinned Pear-shaped fruit follow the blossoms and when cut open the fruit is so sweet that it is used in the making of jams. It then spread to the Philippines and beyond to Asia 4. Flowers and fruits all year 5. Can tolerate temperatures to 20 degrees F 6. The guava is an excellent source of vitamins C and A. 7. Makes an excellent plant for collectors of plants for the home or greenhouse environment 8. Grown for the beautiful leaf shape and color 9. Guava may have been domesticated in Peru several thousand years ago 10.
