These tomatoes/vegetables are indeterminate (they grow all season, they flower all season and they produce tomatoes all season. They don’t stop until frost. Once heirloom tomatoes and vegetables are picked, they do not have a long shelf life as hybrids but they more than make up for any shortcomings in flavor. CUCUMBER ‘Heirloom Mix’ 25 Seeds ALL TYPES MIXED spring summer vegetable garden
FRONTIER SEED CO. USAMADE IN THE USAHEIRLOOM PRODUSE JUST TASTES BETTER!CUCUMBER Heirloom Mix – 25+ Seeds This Heirloom Cucumber Mix offers a variety of cucumbers, which includes Long Green Improved Slicer, Muncher, Space Master 80, Lemon, Armenian Yard Long, Marketmore 76, Straight 8, Alpha Biet, Ashley, Wisconsin SMR-58, and Boston Pickling to name a few. The seeds of all these cucumbers have been RANDOMLY MIXED in ONE SINGLE packet. You will be able to grow a kaleidoscope of cucumbers never seen in supermarkets with different colors, and diverse tastes are all available and included when you start growing these beauties – the surprise factor will end once the fruit forms! Care and Growing Instructions Cucumbers require warm, well-drained soil high in fertility, with a pH of 6–6.8. Consistent, adequate irrigation is needed to produce an abundant crop. Cucumbers are very sensitive to cold. Make sure both soil and air temperatures have warmed prior to planting. Using plastic mulch and row covers will greatly enhance the vigor and potential yields of cucumbers by providing warmth and insect protection. In frost areas, sow under cover in seed trays in early spring. Plant out after last frosts. Sow indoors in 16-cell plug trays about .5″ deep, 1–2 seeds/cell, 3–4 weeks before transplanting. Keep temperature above 69f day and 60f at night with heat pad underneath plug trays if needed. Transplant 1 foot apart. Be careful, do not disturb roots when transplanting. In frost free areas sow directly into the soil in early spring. However, wait until soil is warm, at least 69°f. Cucumber seeds will not germinate at a soil temperature below 45°f. Sow 2 seeds per 1 foot. SpacingSingle Plants: 2 feet each way (minimum)Rows: 2 feet with 1 foot row gap (minimum) Support plants well so they can climb upwards, even when the cucumbers get large. This also protects the cucumbers from slugs. Occasionally a plant can produce very bitter cucumbers so always test a bit before serving to others! Sometimes only the end might be bitter so check each thoroughly. When flowers start forming, feed with slow release potassium-rich organic fertilizer. Fortnightly liquid feed from mid-summer. Once fruit bearing begins, pick daily. Cut the cucumbers off the plant when they are still quite young, otherwise the skin becomes hard and will need peeling. More cucumbers will then be produced. Propagation notes will be supplied with seed packet.

HOMEGROWN HEIRLOOM PRODUCE JUST TASTES BETTER! a quick note on seed storage… I feel through my experience the best way to store your seed is in the refrigerator. Some vegetable varieties produce seed that remains viable for many years (tomatoes) and others produce seed that does not store well under any conditions (onions). I believe seed stored under refrigerated conditions could last 10 years or more. I have just planted some ACE 55 seeds from 2000 in the summer of 2017. They did great! Germination rates were in the 90% range and these seeds had been sitting in a box in my garage for the past 17 years! I have some of that seed available now listed as Marlboro Ace 55. GET SOME!
