Datura Wrightii Seeds (1 bag of 15 seeds)

I have lots of datura seeds for sale! { $6 for 1 bag of 15 seeds } Species: Datura wrightii, aka “Sacred Datura” -perennial (some sources say otherwise) -Full sun -Sandy soil -plant spring or summer -outdoor -light watering This species is native to the Southwest USA all the way down to Northwestern Mexico. Despite how abundant these flowers are here, they are hard to find. I’ve been breeding and perfecting this species for the last 8 years (datura wrightii), experimenting in various environmental settings to produce seeds with high drought tolerance, higher germination rates, frost/intense heat resilience, and bug tolerance. These Sacred Datura seeds are bred using seeds from daturas native to Rio Puerco Valley NM, Farmington NM, Sonora MX, and Tijuana MX Frontera. These are great for both outdoor (potted, or directly into Mother Earth), or indoor (provided you have a healthy temp setting and appropriate lighting/environmental conditions). They bloom in the evening for the most part, but they also show off during the summer light hours. The stems and leaves have a pungent nutty smell, and the white flowers have a sweet soapy intoxicating fragrance. These night time beauties will enhance your garden! They are amazing to watch when the flowers bloom at night, and their energy is quite surreal! REQUIRED WARNING:: these are for ornamental use only. Keep away from children and pets. Every part of this flower is known to be poisonous and contains a number of tropane alkaloids, and should not be consumed in any way, shape or form. Please use great care when handling, and research this plant before handling if you need to know more.

MOON FLOWER SEEDS-Perennial-Night Bloomer-Huge White Blooms-15 FRESH Seeds 2023

The moon flower plant is in the Ipomoea Alba family, it is a plant that will give you many years of enjoyment. My plants start blooming in June. They bloom from summer to fall. Easy to grow, the plant will wilt when it needs watering and its bloom will start opening after dark and will turn until it is pointed straight at the moon. The next morning when the bloom has done its job it will close back up, wilt, hang down and when the bloom falls off it will produce a small ball to grow about the size of a ping pong ball that is prickly. Remove this brown ball before it opens to collect the seeds. Its blooms smell like perfume. The tops of the bloom can measure up to 10″ round or larger when open and almost 8″ or larger measuring the body from top to bottom. All my seeds are open pollenated! I live in zone 6a-7. I gladly combine shipping and I also ship World Wide! When you are finished shopping; request a invoice with combined shipping if needed! DO NOT pay until you receive a invoice with the correct shipping! I include a free pack of seeds with every order! Thanks and Happy Gardening!

Germinating and growing Datura seeds can be a rewarding experience due to their striking flowers and quick growth, though it’s important to handle these plants with care due to their toxicity. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to germinate and grow Datura seeds: Materials Needed:- Datura seeds- Potting soil (well-draining)- Pots or seed trays- Plastic wrap or a plastic dome- Warm, sunny location or grow light Steps for Germination: 1. Seed Treatment: – Datura seeds have a hard coat, which can inhibit germination. To increase germination rates, nick the seeds with a knife or sand them lightly with sandpaper. This process is known as scarification. 2. Soak the Seeds: – Soak the scarified seeds in warm water for 24 hours to soften the seed coat and jumpstart the germination process. 3. Sowing the Seeds: – Fill your pots or trays with a well-draining potting mix, preferably a mix designed for seed starting. – Plant the seeds about 1/4 inch deep in the soil. Cover lightly with soil. 4. Maintain Moisture and Warmth: – Water the soil gently to avoid disturbing the seeds. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. – Cover the pots or trays with plastic wrap or a plastic dome to maintain humidity and warmth. This creates a greenhouse effect. 5. Provide Heat: – Datura seeds germinate best at temperatures between 60-70°F (15-21°C). You can use a heat mat under the seed trays to maintain a consistent temperature if your ambient temperature is lower. 6. Light: – Place the pots in a warm, sunny location or under a grow light. Although light is not strictly necessary for germination, it is beneficial once the seeds start sprouting. 7. Watch for Germination: – Seeds should start sprouting in 2-6 weeks. Once sprouts appear, remove the plastic cover to allow for air circulation and prevent mold growth. Growing Tips: 1. Transplanting: – Once seedlings have a few sets of true leaves and are large enough to handle, transplant them to larger pots or directly into the garden if the weather permits. 2. Location: – Choose a location that receives full sun for most of the day. Datura plants thrive in sunlight and will produce more flowers in full sun. 3. Watering: – Water regularly to keep the soil moist, especially in hot, dry conditions. However, be careful not to overwater as Datura does not like soggy soil. 4. Feeding: – Fertilize lightly with a balanced fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season to support robust growth. 5. Pruning: – Prune as necessary to shape the plant and encourage bushier growth. This will also help in producing more blooms. Safety Tips:- Always wear gloves when handling Datura plants and seeds as they are toxic.- Ensure that pets and children do not have access to the plants. Growing Datura can be a beautiful addition to your garden, but always remember the safety precautions due to its toxic nature.
