Atlee Burpee of Philadelphia. Compact plants grow to between 2 and 3 feet in height and produce heavy yields of golden-yellow squash that reach 6 to 8 inches in length. Flesh is creamy white and tender with a mild, slightly sweet flavor. Perfect for grilling, sautéing, or adding to salads. Direct sow when soil temperature is 70 degrees F or warmer. Plant seeds 1/2 inch deep and 3 to 4 feet apart in moist, rich soil. Germination should occur within 7 to 14 days.
