Steamless Chile Tepin It is one of the smallest chile considered in the world, growing indigenously from Southern America, however, my specific peppers are grown and raised from Mexico. You can make a large variety of foods with the pepper, such as spicy soups, salsas, or just to season your food to give it a little kick! They are part of the Solanaceae family, and are typically known as simply bird peppers, due to the mass consumption and the spreading of seeds by wild birds. To be more specific, Tepin peppers have a tangier, more citrus-like taste with an immediate hit of spice that should quickly disappear, but nonetheless, have a lot of spice. They have an intense heat, ranging 50,000 to 100,000 on the Scoville scale. The pepper can be added to large quantity and range of foods such as stated before It can be used as seasoning for soup or as a preservative for meat. You may add it to the top of your ice cream if you like! It can be made into a tangy vinegar, and more commonly in Mexico, can be used in aguachile, a ceviche made with shrimp, fresh herbs, and cucumber.
