A native to the U.s., Canada, and Mexico. Common names include Grey Headed Coneflower, Mexican Hats, Red Coneflower, Red Hats, Upright Prairie Coneflower 'Red Midget'. It grows in the plains, prairies, roadsides, and many disturbed areas. It grows to 15" tall in full sun to part shade. It's in bloom from mid-summer to late fall. It prefers to grow in a clay base but does fine in regular soils. It is drought-tolerant, suitable for cut flowers, and attracts many butterflies. Zones 3-9GerminationMix seeds and moistened soil together in a ziplock bag. Write the name on the bag. Place in the refrigerator for 60 days.
