Passiflora subpeltata is a tender perennial or vine in the Passifloraceae family. It is commonly known as the white passionflower. This vining plant has fuzzy three-lobed leaves and 2 to 3 ornate flowers on it. It is usually grown as an ornamental plant in containers. It can grow to 30 feet long if planted in the ground in its hardiness zones. I grew mine in a 10-gallon container with pieces of fence stuck in the container for the plant to grow up. It is fairly drought tolerant and can grow in full sun to part shade. The birds, bees, and butterflies will visit. It is in bloom from late Spring until Mid fall. Zones 9-11 Germination Rub the passiflora seeds with a piece of fine-grit sandpaper. Soak seeds for 72 hours. Sow seeds the thickness of the seeds and lightly cover with a medium. Keep moist in a bright spot. Do not cover with plastic but maintain a temperature around 65-75F. Germination 7-90 days.
