Nigella Damascena - Albion Black Pod. Aka: love in a mist. Upright bushy annual with ferny-like dark green deciduous foliage and branching stems. The flowers are white with curved green stamens and deep burgundy seed pods that are very popular with crafters for drying. Easy to grow heirloom with star-shaped flowers that are quite beautiful and an eye-catcher. It is an efficient self sower in well drained soil and does best in exposed but sheltered areas. If you want fresh cut flowers, harvest them as they are just beginning to bloom.
