Very tolerant of heat, drought, and sun once established, this upright perennial will slowly spread via an underground rhizome to form a loose colony of plants. Thrives in sandy soils as well as loam and can succeed in clay so long as there is excellent drainage. A great late blooming addition to yards and wildflower plantings that will aid pollinators as the flowering season comes to a close. Save the pollinators, grow native! Germination instructions: soak in warm water 2-6 hours and cold stratify for 8 weeks. Surface sow stratified seeds and cover with a light layer of washed sand and place vessel in a warm, partially sunny location.
