Commonly known as Tartarian Honeysuckle. It is native to Siberia and most found in China. Honeysuckles are native to temperate zones of both hemispheres. This plant is exotic bush honeysuckle that is present in North America but was introduced as an ornamental plant in 1752. It is a bushy shrub reaching lengths of ten feet in every direction. It grows well on trellis' and arbors. The sweet-scented flowers range in colors from a deep red rose to a light pink and rarely white. The bright red berries are perfect for the dark green background. The berries are eaten by wildlife such as birds and rodents. Zones 3 to 8 Germination Mix seeds and moistened soil together in a ziplock bag. Write the name on the bag. Place in the refrigerator for 60 days. Soak seeds for 12 hours. Sow seeds into a well-drained, sandy compost and cover seeds to their own depth with sand or grit. Place the seed tray in bright light and keep moist. Seeds may germinate slowly.
