It can Grow Anywhere between 70-100 Feet Tall or More in the Wild. The Brownish-Purple Female Cones are Pendulous or Loosely Hanging. It has the Longest Needles of Any Spruce in the World. This Tree is a Tall, Pyramidal in Shape, with Needled Conifers, & Horizontal Branching and Weeping Branchlets. It's Needle-like Green Leaves Surround the Branches and are Four-Angled in Cross-Sections. It's Bark is a Light Grayish Color.(Picea smithiana) prefers full sun, moist & well-drained soils. It tolerates most pH of soil. It will tolerate nutritionally poor soils and very acidic soils.
