Cotoneaster Horizontalis Variegata, commonly known as Variegated Cotoneaster, is a compact deciduous shrub with low growth. Its arching stems bear small oval-shaped variegated green leaves with a soft cream margin. During autumn, the foliage transforms into stunning red and pink hues, creating a visually appealing effect. In May, the shrub produces red flowers, followed by glossy orange and red fruit in the summer, attracting wildlife and serving as a valuable addition to wildlife-friendly gardens. This versatile shrub is suitable for various locations, including banks, slopes, flower beds, and borders. Its adaptability makes it a great choice for different planting schemes and garden types, offering a low-maintenance solution to enhance your garden's beauty. The Cotoneaster Horizontalis Variegata will thrive in sunny, partially shaded areas which are sheltered from cold drying winds and soils which are well drained. The Cotoneaster is low maintenance, requiring a light prune if needed which makes a good plant for both expert and beginner gardeners alike. Naturally forming a good strong shape, sometimes may need removal of dead and damaged branches and any which mishape the plant from its natural framework The plant will be carefully packaged and sent out with a tracking number. During its dormancy, the plant's root ball will be wrapped in wet media for optimal preservation. Upon breaking dormancy in April, the plant will be potted in soil and sent in a small plastic container. While the preference is to send at the beginning of the week, during the spring, we send plants almost every day. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out at any time. Your satisfaction and the well-being of the plant are priorities, and I am here to assist you throughout the process.
