Colvillea Racemosa TreeAlso known as: Colville's Glory TreeWe are very excited to offer the seeds to this rather hard to find BEAUTY from Madagascar! The bloom buds start out reddish and turn a bright rich orange color, forming in cone shape clusters that become 1-2 feet long with eye popping yellow stamens. They attract nectar-loving birds for pollination. In the Americas hummingbirds, honey bees, and butterflies will visit this tree. Soft fern like foliage is the icing on the cake! This fast growing deciduous tree can reach 30-50' in height in due time, and will require full sun and deep, rich, acid to neutral soil with good drainage. Though not overly tolerant of drought, it copes with lower water levels by shedding foliage and can become fully deciduous in subtropical areas with cool, dry winters. New leaves will not emerge until weather is warmer and water is available again. USDA zone 10+ but said to tolerate temps into the high 20's to low 30's once established. It would make a great tree nestled among other shorter dense trees or as a specimen all on its own, in a large public park or open landscape. This offer is for 8 seeds. For complete transparency we include payment processing & Ebay fees in our shipping/handling cost.*DISCLAIMER*NO RETURNS/REFUNDS/REPLACEMENTS ON SEEDSMost specialty seeds we offer are NOT fast to germinate. Many take several weeks, months, and some even up towards a year depending on dormancy, region, season etc. It is important that the buyer understands that seeds are perishable products and seed germination can be adversely affected by such factors as mold/fungus, bugs, temperature, moisture content, light intensity, dormancy, care, contamination of planting media among many other reasons. These factors are totally out of The Plant Attraction's control and are the buyer's responsibility and risk. Germination recommendations are sent with each order and the buyer is free to research and use their own methods. Floating seeds do not always indicate that the seed is not viable. Many times it is a misconception because the seed does not have the density to sink in water. Accordingly, The Plant Attraction does not guarantee seeds to perform properly regardless of conditions or buyer's methods or mistakes. Since 2006 we have been doing our best to hand sort and provide the freshest, cleanest harvest that is free of defects and bugs.
