Callistemon rigidus comes from the Myrtaceae family. It is commonly known as Stiff Bottlebrush and is a Broadleaf evergreen growing up to 8ft by 10ft. It is native in Australia and is commonly grown as a specimen or hedge in frost free areas such as the southern parts of Florida, Texas, Arizona and California. It is a seasonal bloomer that has cool red fragrant flowers. It requires full sun and medium water. Flowers are attractive to bees. Zones 8-11 Germination Mix seeds and soil together in a ziplock bag. Write the name of the seed on the bag. Place in the refrigerator for 14 days. Seed should be sown into well-drained, sandy compost and covered to their own depth with sand or grit. Place the seed tray in a dark spot and keep moist. Seeds germinate very slowly and may take more than a year to germinate.
