CISINEROS TOMATILLO Physalis Ixocarpa Seeds 150 Seeds Seeds are harvested in the US. Heirloom Cisineros Tomatillo -- 500 Seeds Physalis exocarpa ANNUAL 75 days. Tomatillo or tomate is a small spherical shaped berry of tomato family used as a vegetable. It was originated in Mexico and was cultivated by the Aztecs centuries before the Spanish explorers introduced it elsewhere. Unique Cisineros plants produce very large green tomatillos that are at least twice the size of most tomatillos. Wonderful for making salsa. Productive plants produce an abundance of large tasty fruit. For tarter fruits use when they are bright green and for sweeter fruits use when they have matured to yellow-green. Sowing: Seeds can be started indoors before last frost. In fine well-drained potting mix, plant seeds 1/4” (6mm) deep. Keep soil moist during germination. Germination is 7-14 days, depending upon growing conditions. After danger of all frost, transplant 10" tall seedlings outdoors in full sun and well-drained soil. Space plants 36” apart. Tips: Growing two plants for pollination is recommended. Mulch around base. Harvest when fully mature by clipping with scissors so as not to damage the plant. Keep picked to encourage new fruits to grow.
