Please note : most cultivars only produce a few seeds a year on a mature tree which is why I only have a few listed for each one . Get them while you can .Gold Edge is a variegated Chinese witch hazel that features dull, blue-green leaves with thin, irregular, creamy-white margins. Crinkly, sweetly-scented, golden yellow flowers (to 5/8" long) have narrow, strap-shaped petals and purplish-red calyces. Flowers bloom in clusters along bare stems in mid- to late winter (February-March) before the spring foliage emerges. This shrub typically matures to 6-8' tall and as wide. Ovate-rounded leaves (to 4” long) with jagged margins and uneven cordate bases emerge yellow-green in spring, mature to a dull blue-green, and finally turn yellow in autumn. It is an important ingredient of proprietary eye drops, skin creams, ointments and skin tonics. It is widely used as an external application to bruises, sore muscles, varicose veins, hemorrhoids, sore nipples, inflammations etc. Edible parts of Witch Hazel: Seed - raw or cooked. An oily texture. The seeds are about the size of a barley grain and have a thick bony coat. A refreshing tea is made from the leaves and twigs.
