Sage, White – Heirloom Seeds – Smudging Sage – Ceremonial Cleansing Plan
White Sage (Salvia apiana) – 50 Seeds •Heirloom •Non-GMO •American grown seeds •US Native Wildflower •USDA Zones: 7-12 (can be grown as a potted plant and protected from frost in other regions) Description: White sage (Salvia apiana) is a small evergreen shrub native to the Southwest, particularly California. It grows as a perennial in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 8 through 11, but can also grow as an annual in other zones. The plant has a history of use by Native Americans. It also attracts beneficial insects to the garden with its spring and summer flowers and provides food to native wildlife. White sage grows easily from seed and requires little maintenance once established. Growing Instructions: Start seeds indoors in early spring. Fill a planting tray or small pots with a seed-starting potting mix. Spread seeds on top of the potting medium and mist with water. Place the seed tray or pots in a location that is room temperature. The seeds need a temperature range between 68 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit to germinate. White sage also needs light for germination. Check the seeds regularly for moisture levels and sprouts. Water when the potting mix dries, but avoid making it soggy. Germination should take approximately 14 to 21 days. Transplant seedlings to larger containers when they form true leaves. Keep the plants in a sunny location and water them when the soil dries completely. Allow excess water to drain from the containers. •FREE SHIPPING on all orders of $35 or more. •Flat Rate shipping no matter how many seeds you order. •Growing instructions included on each seed packet. *All information is provided for educational purposes only.

Grow Zones: 4,5,6,7,8,9 Grow Artemisia Tridentata (also known as “Big Mountain Sagebrush” “Tassy” or “White Sage”) from seed to collect your own smudging sage bundles for a huge savings! Big Mountain Sagebrush is the white sage traditionally used by native Americans in the west for smudging. It offers superior anti-bacterial airborne germ protection for your home and grows into a 1-3 ft tall shrub. Artemisia Tridenta Vasey grows into a full-sized sagebrush that is collected in the fall and used medicinally as a smudging herb to cleanse the air. In addition to cleansing the air, the leaves can be cooked and used as a condiment or boiled into a refreshing tea that features an aroma of mint to ease digestion. Plant sage in well-drained soil and water weekly. Germination instructions: Germinates best in direct sunlight and with cold stratification for 2 weeks prior to planting. Once cold stratified in the freezer (Cold stratification: Spread and place seeds in slightly damp/moist paper towel then place towel with seeds in ziploc bag to store in freezer for 2 weeks), plant seeds over top moist soil by gently pressing seeds so that they receive moisture from the soil while also receiving sunlight for best results. Keep seeds and soil moist during the germination phase. Enjoy next day handling with shipping via USPS first class.
