For fertilizer use, Miracle Grow mixed 1/4 teaspoon to 1 gallon of water. Repot every 2-3 years and remove decaying rhizome growth.Germination can take from 1-9 months so be patient. Tacca integrifolia is a Tropical or Tender perennial in the Taccaceae family. It is native to the Tropical and sub-tropical rainforests of Central Asia. It is in the same family as the yam. It grows from a thick rhizome underground. The leaves are beautiful and extensive, increasing to 20 inches long and 8 inches wide. The flower scape is 12 inches long. Its bracts which are cat-like whiskers, fall to the ground. This plant is fantastic when in bloom in mid-spring until mid-fall. It likes to grow in or around leaf litter in a tropical setting. These do very well in the shade. I kept mine in 10-gallon containers and brought it inside for the Winter. Zones 10-11 Germination Sow seeds in any standard germination medium and cover them 1/8.” Place in warm, moist conditions (intermittent mist ideal) in bright light but no direct sun. Germination takes 8-12 weeks but may take longer.
