I plant in my greenhouse in pots in late February, but keep them in the greenhouse. To plant directly in the ground, they need protected from critters and should be done after the last frost date for your area.

Northern grown pecan tree seeds. Our USDA zones are Zone 6a: -10°F to -5°F and Zone 6b: -5°F to 0°F. They prefer slightly acidic to neutral soil (pH 6.0-7.0) and require diligent watering and occasional pruning, with planting best done in dormancy (winter/early spring) to ensure good nut production.
