It is quite adaptable to regular garden soil and tolerates occasional dry stretches. In the past, native people wove mats and made ropes with its stems and stuffed its cushiony seed heads into pillows. Wool Grass creates a natural look when planted near water features and ponds. It is often called for in restoration projects. Although people call it a grass, it is actually a sedge. Easy to grow from seed and a long lifespan 10+yrs. Can be grown in large containers.
