This perennial wildflower grows to about 1 to 3 feet tall, depending on environmental conditions. Butterfly Milkweed can be found growing in dry areas such as open fields, roadsides, farmland, wooded areas, and prairies. It displays long-lasting clusters of bright orange flowers on hairy stems that are a light green to a dull reddish-purple and can branch off at the top allowing for multiple flower heads.
