Moonflower (Datura Inoxia), or angel’s trumpet enchants with large beautiful fragrant nocturnal blooms. They thrive best in fertile, well draining, sunny locations in zones 5 through 10. One bush can reach heights of 3-4ft and spread as wide as 3-4ft as well.

Shells and seeds will probably be dry, stiff and hardened by December. Shake seeds out of the opened pod. Carefully (the pods are prickly) open the pod and remove the remaining seeds with a needle or knife tip.Spread seeds single layer onto a tray or plate and let dry for at least a week at room temperature. When fully dried, seeds will be slightly smaller and the reddish brown color turns to a darker brown. Store in paper bags.Planting Seeds:Plants can be started early inside and then planted outside after danger of frost has passed. They can also be seeded directly into the soil.Plants are drought resistant but do tolerate overwatering.Seeds and all other parts of this plant are toxic to humans and animals, they should be kept away from children and pets.Plants can grow 3 to 5 feet tall and are spreading out.Starting in August, spiky seed pods will appear.
