Amorpha fruticosa is an easy to grow, native, nitrogen-fixing shrub. USES: Chop and drop species for nitrogen and biomass. I’m planting them at the base of my black locust timber trees to act as a natural tree guard to prevent buck rub.

200+ Chinese Cedar (Toona sinensis) Seed, aka Chinese Mahogany
LATIN: Toona sinensis. HARVEST YEAR: 2024. I did not personally grow these seeds. EDIBILITY: The shoots and young tender leaves are eaten as a perennial vegetable. The flavor is strong enough to think of the leaves as a spice added to flavor dishes.
Shipmast Black Locust Seeds ~100 ‘Nyírségi’ (Robinia pseudoacacia)
Black locust is a fast-growing native nitrogen-fixing tree with incredibly rot-resistant wood. It can be coppiced on rotation creating a perpetual woodlot. HARVEST YEAR: 2025 – I did not personally produce these seeds.
Solanum pseudolulo – 25 seeds – wild relative of Lulo/Naranjilla
One of the goals was to find tropical perennial species that could be grown in the temperate climate as an annual. It was the most precocious, making ripe fruit 9-10 months after planting the seed. It was by far the most vigorous, keeping pace with figs and castor.
