Hyphaene coriacea, or Ilala palm, is an amazing, beautiful palm from Africa. It is one of the only genuses of palms in the world that branches, although this species usually branches below ground. This makes it look like there is a clump of many trunks after many years, when in fact it’s just one trunk with underground branches.
