SCARLET NANTES-70 days. One of the most popular and widespread varieties of carrot ever, Scarlet Nantes has since been the original parent crop for countless of carrots now simply known as Nantes-style carrots. Scarlet Nantes is a hardy 19th century French heirloom grown for its classic 6″ orange roots that have since become the staple of the gardening world. Scarlet Nantes is a carrot with bright orange, slightly tapered, 6-inch roots; crisp, tender and flavorful; standard for high quality carrots.ROYAL CHANTENAY-65-70 days. From the Chantenay region of France, Chantenay is an old-world favorite grown for denser, stubbier roots. A 19th century heirloom, Royal Chantenay carrot seeds had been first commercially sold in 1952 by the pioneering seed merchant Northrup King and Company as a delicious, modern cross with the exceedingly dense and prolific Red Cored ChantenayROYAL CHANTENAY RED CORED-65-70 days. The Chantenay Red Core carrot seeds produce blunt roots that can grow up to six inches long. The core of each carrot is a beautiful dark orange color, giving it a unique look when it is sliced. Carrots are sweet and tender but have a nice crunch when they are eaten raw as well. This variety should be grown in full sun in zones three to nine and does best in sandy or heavy soil. The Chantenay Red Core carrot is ready to be harvested at around sixty-eight days. PARISIAN-60 days. The Parisian Carrot is unique in both its shape and ability to grow in difficult soils. This carrot variety grows roots that are very short and squat, they are practically in a globe shape. Because of their short growth pattern, they can be grown in heavy soils where long carrots are difficult to grow. Like all carrots, it does best in well-drained and sandy soils, but unlike others, it can grow in rocky soil. AMSTERDAM- 70 days. A Nantes-style carrot, the Amsterdam is a European heirloom cultivated for generations for reliable and uniform 4-6″ long bright orange carrots with indistinct cores. Prior to the Dutch influence of the 16th century, the worlds carrot crop had once been all purple, whereas orange was the mutant variable that Dutch growers sought to isolate as a separate cultivar. Biennial but commonly grown as an annual in the USA.DANVERS 127-65-70 days. Danvers carrots are a hardy 19th century American garden heirloom grown for its rugged tolerance to heavy, difficult soils. Cultivated and grown in Danvers, Massachusetts during the 1870″s to give local farmers a chance against the cold and rocky soils of the northeast, Danvers heirloom carrot seeds were later improved in the 1940″s for better vegetable yields and garden uniformity, signified by the number ““126.” Non-GMO Danvers 126 carrot seeds are grown for their shorter 6-7″ long roots and infinitely sweeter taste.IMPERATOR-65-80 days. The Imperator 58 carrot is a colorful and crunchy addition to any home garden. Seeds produce nine-inch-long tapered roots with a bright orange color. Their tops are green and fluffy, growing up to eight inches tall. This crop requires sandy, well-drained soil with no rocks, in an area with full sun. Carrots take sixty-five to eighty days to reach full maturity. The variety is sweet and tender and is commonly found being sold in supermarkets. Anyway, I bought 100 or so varieties and have been growing them out ever since. One of those tomatoes that I continue to grow out is the COYOTE CHERRY. This tomato performs great! This tomato, COYOTE CHERRY , performed amazingly well for me in the high desert frontier at 4100 feet. My growing season is sometimes very long (May-November) and other years it can end in early September. No matter, this variety puts on a ton of fruit and does very well regardless of length of season. Great flavor and appearance. COYOTE WILD YELLOW CHERRY TOMATO—–20 seeds per packet—–VERY PRODUCTIVE, this is a great variety. 65 days, INDETERMINATEA cluster of ripe “Coyote” tomatoes, still on the vine, was given to Craig LeHoullier by Maye Clement from Vera Cruz, Mexico, in 1990 during her visit to his display at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Harvest Festival. She related that it was a tomato that grew wild in Mexico (Craig’s note: there is more to add, but I need to find the letter she sent to me). Due to the pale color, Craig mistakenly originally listed it in the SSE yearbook as Ivory Currant – but the true name, according to Maye, is indeed “Coyote”.Wild white/yellow cherry from Mexico, large plant gets loaded with them, voted the “Tastiest” tomato at the CHOPTAG 09 tomato tasting, sweet like eating bits of fruit.Delightful little cherry tomatoes are creamy ivory with hints of yellow and an absolutely unforgettable taste. The flavor is not only sweet but is also marked by a fruity complexity. They are so irresistible that you won’t want to stop eating them at harvest time. Plants are large and quite prolific, bearing long clusters of these 1/2-inch delicious little treats. Heirloom variety originally from Mexico. This is close in shape and flavor ot another cherry tomato I currently have available, THE CHAMPAGNE CHERRY TOMATO. Champagne Cherry won “CHOPTAG” IN ’07, so you know they are both delicious. Champagne is just slightly larger than the fruit of Coyote, but both grow to be huge spawling plants with HUNDREDS of tomatoes on each plant. I canned these one year and was able to enjoy them through the winter months.Great choice for an “HEIRLOOM TASTING PLATTER” with different colors. Lots of ways to get creative here.Did You Know? We must protect this foundation as a safe and genetically stable source for future generations. For the benefit of all farmers, gardeners and consumers who want an alternative. We pledge that we do not knowingly buy or sell genetically engineered seeds or plants. The mechanical transfer of genetic material outside of natural reproductive methods and between genera, families or kingdoms, poses great biological risks as well as economic, political and cultural threats. We feel that genetically engineered varieties have been insufficiently tested prior to public release. Heirloom plants are grown from seeds that have been handed down thru generations, saved from year to year, some varieties dating back hundreds of years. Many made the migration from Europe and the East with the immigrants coming to the USA. The seeds are never cross pollinated and so they remain true to their particular characteristics. Heirloom tomatoes come in all colors, shapes, and sizes ? Reds, Pinks, Yellows, Orange, White, Green, Striped, and Black. Ranging in sizes of cherry and grape to large grapefruit size, meaty, or juicy. WHY HEIRLOOM? These tomatoes are more natural, they are non GMO (genetically modified). They do not have as long of a shelf life as store bought tomatoes, but that is what makes them special. They have a real fantastic tomato flavor not found in grocery store offerings. These tomatoes are indeterminate (they grow all season, they flower all season and they produce tomatoes all season. They don’t stop until frost. Once heirloom tomatoes are picked, they do not have a long shelf life as hybrids but they more than make up for any shortcomings in flavor. Please see my other listings and my store for more great varieties and thank you!
Franks Large Red heirloom tomato seeds non-gmo open pollinated ONE OF MY BEST!
Quick note: My seeds are grown, harvested and selected by me. I start ALL of my seedlings/transplants, so you know there are no chemicals, pesticides, insecticides, or harsh commercial fertilizers used in the products I produce. I use organic fertilizer, compost, and red worm castings, that’s it! I do not buy foreign seeds or seeds that are out of date. I have been growing these varieties for years and they are proven winners. You will not be dissapointed. NON-GMO HEIRLOOM VEGETABLES JUST TASTE BETTER! MADE IN USA Back in 2010 I bought my first assortment of heirloom seeds, off ebay actually, from Blue Ribbon Tomatoes in Kentucky. Unfortunately, they are no longer selling heirloom tomato seed, boo! Anyway, I bought 100 or so varieties and have been growing them out ever since. One of those tomatoes that i continue to grow out every year is FRANK’S LARGE RED. This tomato performs great! This tomato, FRANKS LARGE RED, performed amazingly well for me in the high desert frontier at 4100 feet. My growing season is sometimes very long (May-November) and other years it can end in early September. No matter, this variety puts on a ton of fruit and does very well regardless of length of season. Great flavor and appearance. Other pictures of this tomato online, shows it to be a rather nonuniform type beefsteak, irregular in shape somewhat. Instead, I found my tomatoes were all BIG and all shaped the same. Very uniform shaped LARGE tomatoes with ribbed shoulders, slightly flattened, and yeah BIG!. This is an awesome tomato. VERY PRODUCTIVE, this is a great variety. If you are looking for the perfect tomato to complement your hamburger, you have found it. You will agree that this has a salty sweet flavor, a bit like tomato soup. Plenty of acid bite to it. Beautiful deep red color, usually around 1 lb each, but can get bigger, with good production. Beefsteak type, and it does not have a lot of seeds. Very healthy plants.75-80 days, indeterminate., regular leaf plant with a high yield of 12-18 oz, pink beefsteak fruit with very good flavor, eastern Kentucky heirloom.A good sized, round red tomato. Very juicy and TASTY! This was great again in salsa, salads, and on sandwiches.Large tomatoes with potential to grow to well over 2 lbs. Oblate, slightly ribbed, at times irregular shaped fruits with excellent flavor: delicious, compelling blend of tart and sweet. Excellent sandwich tomato. Indeterminate, regular leaf vines.Great choice for an “HEIRLOOM TASTING PLATTER” with different colors of FRANKS LARGE RED tomato seeds, heirloom, open-pollinated, non-gmo. 25 seeds per packet. FRANKS LARGE RED has a fantastic flavor(did I say DELICIOUS?!?!), is red, large, and productive. Did You Know? Research shows that protective effects of tomatoes against prostate cancer and cardiovascular disease result from the synergy of lycopene with other phytonutrients naturally present in whole tomatoes. Lycopene is highest in organically grown tomatoes.Frontier Seed brand vegetable seeds are all NON-GMO and open pollinated heirloom varieties.Buy with confidence and plant the best!Nutritional Value: The red tomato is listed on most nutritional lists as a super-food. It is packed with the antioxidant vitamins A and C, potassium and the B vitamins for heart health, and above all a powerful carotenoid called lycopene. This phytonutrient, which is responsible for the bright red color of tomatoes, has been studied for its role in fighting various cancers, and its ability to lower cholesterol. When tomatoes are cooked, even more lycopene is made available. Lycopene has been shown to be especially effective when eaten with fat-rich foods such as avocado, olive oil, or nuts. There are the ingredients for a powerhouse salad! INCLUDES BASIC GROWING INSTRUCTIONS All seeds are fermented, strained, washed, dried, and stored at 34 degrees f until you purchase them.
