Black Zucchini Seeds

Cucurbita pepo Min Qty: 60 seeds/packet Description: Not really black, but a very dark green fruit that is popular in stir fries, baked, boiled, or stored frozen. Large yields, best when picked around 6″ long. Planting Instructions: 50 days. Can be started indoors 3-4 weeks before last frost and transplanted after hardening off and the danger of frost has passed. Alternately, direct seed after danger of frost has passed and soil has warmed; sow seeds 1″ deep, in loose, rich soil in rows, plant seeds 4-6″ apart in rows 6′ apart. Thin seedlings to 2-3′ when they have 2 sets of leaves. For a fall harvest, start another crop by mid-summer. Squash are generally heavy feeders, so fertilize as they grow to improve your harvest. Cucurbita pepo Min Qty: 30 seeds/packet Description: Italian heirloom bush variety from the 1880s, harvested early for best flavor, but still good when larger. Dark green fruit with light stripes. Try the flowers, dipped in batter and fried. Planting Instructions: 50-60 days. After the danger of frost has passed, and the soil has warmed, sow seeds 1/2″ deep, in loose, rich soil in rows, plant seeds 4-6″ apart in rows 6′ apart. Thin seedlings to 2-3′ when they have 2 sets of leaves. Squash are generally heavy feeders, so fertilize as they grow to improve your harvest. For a fall harvest, plant in mid-summer.
