~LAU FAN PALM SEED~ 1000+Seeds Pritchardia thurstonii ~Dwarf FIJI FAN Palm~ Rare
Pritchardia thurstonii_seed Lau Fan Palm Native to Fiji, Lau island group, introduced on many pacific islands. Pritchardia thurstonii This is truly a Beautiful palm. The primary differences, between P pacifica and P thurstonii, are 1) this palm’s flowers extend far beyond the leaves and look like ornaments hanging down from the crowns… while inflorescence of P pacifica are still nestled within the crown of leaves. 2) this palm is a bit smaller in leaf and trunk size, also a less ‘perfect’ in the size/shape of the leaf. One of the most attractive Pritchardias with a trunk up to 12 inches in diameter, Pritchardia thurstonii is similar to but smaller than the common Fiji Fan Palm. P. thurstonii is the hard to hard dwarf version of these attractive, solitary fan palms. P. thurstonii is highly sought after by discriminating collectors. Typically found in habitat, tropical dry forests with mean monthly temperatures ranging from 22C in July to 28C in January. Rainfall averages 1800 mm per year with most falling during December-April summer and almost drought conditions prevailing during the cooler months. This attractive, solitary fan palm 15-30 feet tall, is smaller than the common Fiji Fan Palm. Leaves up to 8 feet long and almost as wide, the leaf blade is the same glabrous dull green on both upper and lower surfaces, without any scales or spots underneath. The long stemmed inflorescence is up to 3 meters in length. The spherical fruit is smaller, 8-10 mm in diameter, turning red then black at maturity. The seed is 5mm in diameter about half the size of the common variety. Culture: Fresh seed germinates within 30 days. Plant in a sunny, moist, but well drained position. Prefers tropical conditions, will not grow in temperate climates and is marginal where winter temperatures go below 5C. Slow growing. Well suited to coastal areas. A feature of this solitary palm are the large fan-shaped leaves up to 2 m wide and deeply pleated. Unlike many other fan palms there are no spines along the petioles Seeds are round and .25 inches in size. Of the tribe Arecaceae, Genus: Pritchardia; it is also known by the botanic name Pritchardia thurstonii Pritchardia thurstonii This is a uncommon palm in Hawaii landscapes. Smallest of the two Fijian species of Pritchardia thurstonii is a handsome palm. Pritchardia thurstonii prefers full sun but will tolerate partial shade on any well-drained soil. Inflorescence: Long Stem Branched, born in the crownshaft. One of only 3 species with inflorescence greatly exceeding the crown. The inflorescence, like Pritchardia kaalae is up to 3 meters in length. Lau Fan Palm Slender solitary dwarf landscape palm tree The fruits are black with seeds 5 mm. Synonymy: P. weissichiana Common Names: Lau Fan Palm, Dwarf Fiji Fan Palm Slow grower Salt Tolerance: Moderate Well suited to coastal areas. Moderate drought tolerance Uses: excellent landscape specimen. As each order is packed and prepared separately you will pay the quoted S/H charges individually per item. If you buy the same species in that item it does calculate out the discount (i.e.: additional items) My stores’ combined shipping is built in for same items rather than a varied selection. Domestic S/H includes postage, USDA certification and inspection, proper packing and delivery to Airport for prompt delivery. I can’t really change any of these. If you want one of this and one of that, it is hard to discount much as each different species requires it’s own prep, packing, then at USDA each has to be unwrapped and inspected then repacked. USDA requires us to clean and prepare every last piece before we drive them to the Inspection Station on the other side of the island. This requirement takes my wife and I, 2-3 days to pack items and get ready to ship. The whole next day we drive around the island and get inspected (2-3 hours), then drive to the Airport Post Office to drop off. It takes the same work with the same type item if you can understand. Before you purchase After you Receive your Items. LIVE PLANTS ARE PERISHABLE. There is the risk when you grow plants that they may die. LIVE PLANTS are PERISHABLE, guaranteed not to live forever. US orders ONLY are GUARANTEED LIVE ARRIVAL. All International orders are shipped at the BUYER’s RISK! When you order a plant we assume you are prepared to care for it. It is your responsibility to know how to care for the plant. Do some research before they arrive or seek experienced help. Small plants need protection from many things, wind, sun, dry-out. They do well just in the garage or living room. They need good light but not sunlight (full sun will burn small plants). Small pots dry-out easily. Just sitting in a shallow tray of water works well. The idea is to keep the plants from dehydrating. Be careful if you decide to re-pot. Re-potting voids any warranty. Plants are easily damaged with new/different mix. Use NO fertilizers (this may kill your plants). Proper care is critical upon arrival. Live Plants are NOT GUARANTEED to survive under your care. DO NOT expect any live plant to be GUARANTEED to remain alive. Plants are NOT GUARANTEED TO SURVIVE after you begin Care! Live arrival is guaranteed, eternal survival is up to you. NO REPLACEMENT WILL BE CONSIDERED IF YOU HAVE REPOTTED THE PLANT. IF YOU are NOT able to provide PROPER CARE, PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT plant to be GUARANTEED after it perishes. BROWN THUMB WARNING: Please Do NOT email me after a week after receiving and repotting your plant, and make a claim it arrived damaged. All photo support must be as arrived in original condition when received (in the box and packed as delivered). If you repot your plant after delivery, all warranties are voided and no replacement is offered. You should use good gardening skills and repot if desired but at buyer’s risk and expense. If repotted, you are responsible for the condition of the plant. NO REPLACEMENT or REFUND WILL BE CONSIDERED IF YOU HAVE REPOTTED THE PLANT. Not every plant that I grow survives, and I am aware of that and accept the risk when I order. This is the risk that you as the buyer accept, because there is no way to know what kind of conditions it will endure in the trip to your door. My responsibility ends when a live plant is delivered to your door. You are agreeing to these terms when you make this purchase from this listing. eBay Return Policy If you need to return an item, be sure to follow these item condition guidelines. For details on the seller’s return policy (including how long you have to return an item, who pays for return shipping, and restocking fees), check the Return policy section of this listing. Seed is a live product which depends on many important related grower skills such as proper planting time, seed depth, type of soil, irrigation, proper use of fertilizers, weed controls, fungicides, insecticides, disease free soil, and reasonable weather conditions during the growing period. Germination is affected by such factors as temperature, moisture content, light intensity and contamination of planting media. These factors are totally out of the seller’s control and are the buyer’s responsibility and risk. Consequentially, the seller cannot unconditionally guarantee seed to perform properly regardless of conditions or the buyer’s methods or mistakes.. Ma ha lo & A l o h a ! ! 7_heads Store

Burgundy Wine Iochroma angel trumpet hummingbirds love brugmansia cousin seeds
This is for Burgundy Wine Iochroma seeds. This Ecuadorian cloud forest shrub/small tree rocks its hummingbird magnet blooms YEAR ROUND (even in Winter)! Related to the lovely Brugmansia, it sports clusters of 2″ long, deep burgundy blooms. Flowers happen on new growth, which means it’s totally pruneable. Growing to 10-12′ high by 3-5′ wide fairly quickly, prune it to whatever size your heart desires. Near the coast it’s cool in the sun, but for those of you in warmer places, plant in a shadier place to protect from hot afternoon sun. ALL PARTS POISONOUS! This is a brief guide to Iochroma. There is increasing interest in Iochromas which are late spring-summer flowering shrubs.Only six of the 24 or so Iochroma species are in general cultivation but between them, and their hybrids, they give a wide range of flower colours in shades of blue, purple, red, orange and white. The flowers do not smell but are nonetheless attractive to hummingbirds in the US. The plants are moderately hardy. I have mine growing in a container and it has withstood temperatures in the mid-twenties without damage, and without ceasing to bloom.. My plant has withstood 25 and looked good. Shrubs get to 8 feet tall and wide and are nearly always in bloom. They are a great plant for attracting hummingbirds. Can be grown in containers in colder climates and brought in by a sunny window for the winter. They still bloom indoors. This is for 10 fresh organic seeds with growing instructions.
