Musa cheesmanii is a banana plant in the Musaceae family. Its native range is from Arunachal Pradesh to Assam in Northeastern India. A medium-sized species that is fast-growing and hardy. Pseudostems are tinted red and brown and lead up to where the wax is evident and white leading to a leaf that is bright green. The leaves have a midrib that is light green on top and purple-brown on the bottom that is gray. It prefers to grow in light shade with high water needs. Zones 8-11 Germination Soak seeds 24 hours. Sow seeds 1/2" deep and lightly cover. Keep moist in a bright spot. Do not cover and keep temperatures around 65-75F. Germination is in 7-30 days.
