✅ Up for sale One plant of Populus fremontii, Fremont Cottonwood tree, 1 year old 8-12 inches tall. *Unless otherwise restricted from shipping, this plant will ship bare root to California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. We do not send this item to Alaska or Hawaii. Plants ship dormant in winter months October through Mid June. No leaves. ✅ The bark of the Cottonwood is grey, thick, and deeply furrowed. It features a broad, open crown of widely spreading branches. The leaves are triangular, 3”-5” long and wide, and are a shiny green color, turning bright yellow as summer changes to fall. Cottonwoods commonly favor wetter soil and are found along lakes, riverbanks, and irrigation ditches. ✅ Cottonwoods can be either male or female. It is the fluffy white seeds produced by the females during early summer that shows the difference. Cottonwoods can live to be over 100 years old. There are cottonwoods on the Great Plains today that were living when the great herds of bison still roamed the prairie. ✅ Your order will arrive in good condition; if any issues occur with the item while it is on the way to you, contact us the very same day with describing the issue and attach pictures of the issue so we can see it.
